Foundations Part 1

Foundation is a vital ingredient in everyones make up bag, unless of course you are one of those people blessed with gorgeously flawless even skin. The main thing to remember is that foundation is used to simply make the face look more beautiful, and the major rule here is ... less is more!!

many people believe that they need to use big dollops of thick creamy foundation in order to achieve what they concider to be a "flawless complextion" but this is so wrong, and very bad for your skin! some other people believe that foundation is bad for your skin altogether, this is also not true.. its all about the amount your using, the consistency thats right for your skin type, and also the time of year and activity you are doing while wearing your foundation. for example you wouldnt wear a full coverage foundation if your are going to the gym or if its 35 degrees outside would you?...obviously that would be bad for your skin... its all about knowing what works for your skin type and what is necessary.

some people just need to even out their skin tone and cover up any pigmintation, like me .. so in this situation a little goes a long way, i hate the feeling of thick consistency foundations on my skin, i want my skin to breath and look fresh, but also flawless at the same time.

the major difficulties people have with foundations is never being able to find a true match of colour to their skin type. however these days there are so many amazing brands that accomodate really fair skin types to the darkest of shades including pinky and blue toned skins to more olive toned and warmer shades. Nars cosmetics do an amazing range of foundations which i love and they are particularly accomodating to more olive skin tones.

Another problem which people may face is finding the right formulla thats perfect to their skin tone.. dry, oily, cobination, mosly dry cobinaion, or mostly oily cobination... foundation choice for skin type is vital. and its a huge factor to consider. it can totally make all the difference to your complection. Again the make up market these days have such an amazing variety of products that will suit your skin type. foundation primers these days either come in normal, or for dry skin, and for oily skin as well as the foundation itself.
